GHEMAT - The Research Group of the History of Mathematics Education in Brazil - was created in 2000. The group is based in UNIFESP - Federal University of São Paulo - and is coordinated by Dr. Wagner Rodrigues Valente. GHEMAT also counts on the participation of eight research teams from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná - PUC-PR - coordinated by Dr. Neuza Bertoni Pinto; the University of the Vale do Sinos - UNISINOS, coordinated by Dr. Maria Cecília Bueno Fischer; the Federal University of Sergipe - UFSE, coordinate by Dr. Ivanete Batista dos Santos; the Federal University of Mato Grosso - UFMT, coordinate by Dr. Gladys Denise Wielewski; the Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC, coordinated by Dr. Cláudia Regina Flores; the Feira de Santana State University (Bahia)- UEFS coordinated by Dr.André Mattedi Dias; the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais - PUC-Minas, coordinated by Dr. Elenice de Souza Lodron Zuin and Vale do Sapucaí University - UNIVÁS, MG, coordinated by Dr. Aparecida Rodrigues Silva Duarte.
