Financial Aid - Graduate Program in Sustainability Science and Technology

To obtain financial aid to attend scientific events by PROAP grants, students must fill out the form P1 and forward it to the Graduate Office at least 75 days before the event. Expenses can include the participation of students of the Program in domestic scientific events such as: conferences, seminars and courses, with resources to cover the following expenses:

  1. Registration fee for the maximum value of R$ 500.00 (five hundred reais) per event;
  2. Fare cost;
  3. Lodgings;
  4. Meals, and
  5. Transportation.

The maximum coverage period is of five (5) consecutive days. In cases of participation in conferences and seminars, the coverage of these expenses is exclusive for students submitting work related to the topic of his/her thesis. Requests will be considered only for scientific events organized by scientific organization and with the evaluation of the work submitted.

In addition to student participation in scientific events the student must;

  • Be regularly enrolled in the program;
  • Not request or use the benefit when the enrollment period has terminated or after the dissertation defense;
  • Not request funding from agencies that provide technical reserve resources;
  • Not have received resources for the same event;
  • Not have received PROAP funding resources in a period of 12 months;
  • Have updated Lattes CV;
  • Submit a report referent to the use of the resources.

The distribution of the resources from the funds received annually from the Program will be decided by the Graduate Commission based on criteria determined at regular meetings. The requests to use the funds will be judged by the Graduate Commission and will take into account the students’ academic performance.

After approval, the Graduate Office will communicate the results to the student.

Within 15 days after the event, the student must issue a report on the use of the funds and forward it to the Office for Graduate Studies and Research, which must include:

  1. Form P2
  2. A 2-page report on the participation in the Congress;
  3. Proof of participation in the Congress;
  4. Proof of the work submitted;
  5. Proof of expenses;

Upon approval of the report by the Graduate Commission, the student will receive the approved funds.
